It actually sounds like he’s making this stuff up as he goes along, which he probably was. The song is a demo by Jackson and Paul Anka (the legendary songwriter and co-composer of ‘My Way’). It was recorded as simply a vocal, piano and finger clicks. The two subsequently fell out, and Anka won the rights to the master-tapes.
