A Saber-ish Silly Trade Post Or, How To: Debunk/Create a Trade Rumor I heard an infamous XM Radio Rumor*: the Padres asked for Jair Jurrjens, Jordan Schafer, Freddie Freeman, and Kris Medlen (that’s probably the order of commonly perceived trade value, maybe with Freeman and Schafer reversed, though it’s nothing close to the order of true value) [...]

... ETA: He will get his chance in spring training 2010 with the Braves. He could follow the path of Jordan Schafer and make the club out of camp, or he could follow the path of Tommy Hanson and get some triple-A seasoning with an eye towards a mid-year call-up. He should be a lineup mainstay by the end of 2010. ...for a full scouting report, go here . 2. Freddie Freeman, 1B :: B/T: L/R...

Why in god’s name does signing Marlon Byrd make Jordan...

I don’t see Brandon Hicks, Freddie Freeman, Travis Jones, or any of the Gwinnett infielders making the club with the possible exception of Diory Hernandez, who doesn’t qualify. A Gwinnett outfielder could, but Reid...

... injuries to play through and which injuries not to play through. Wrist injuries, like the one Jordan Schafer also suffered, should be brought to the trainer's attention much earlier. We don't want a system of kids who are afraid to play, but we also don't want those kids playing through an injury that will set them back more than if they had sat out a few days when it first occurred....

... BC - David Ross $1,600,000 UT - Omar Infante $1,850,000 UT - Brooks Conrad $400,000 OF - Jordan Schafer $400,000 OF - Brandon Jones $400,000 Total 2010 Payroll $98,283,332 First of all, it’s certainly do-able. The late-innings reliever I have bold/italicized would presumably be the return in a trade involving Kelly Johnson, as Tim mentioned. Then the Braves have $20 million to spend...
