A $3.5 million project to restore Sylvan Beach in La Porte is on pace to finish next month, officials said. By the end of the year, visitors to the beach on Galveston Bay at Fairmont Parkway will have access to about 2,000 feet of shoreline, from just north of the Sylvan Beach Park Pavilion to the park's northern boundary, La Porte Economic Development Coordinator Stacey Osborne said....
