That's an issue Todd Haley has to address before the start of the game. Bobby Wade had been handling that chore but he's inactive. Warmups have started and Dantrell Savage and Maurice Leggett are in the two-player line catching Dustin Colquitt's punts. I can't believe Haley would trust Leggett, who has had problems with fumbles and judgment so look for Savage to be the guy.

... SS DaJuan Morgan moves to the starting role at FS Who is backing up Mike Brown at SS now? CB Maurice Leggett has been seeing time at FS behind Morgan CB Travis Daniels was signed and is providing depth at CB (possibly because Leggett is seeing extra time at FS) Since McGraw hasn't practiced in two weeks, I'd imagine ruling him out for Sunday is just a formality at this point....

... since he last practiced. McGraw's injury is causing quite the domino effect in the secondary. CB Maurice Leggett is now seeing time at free safety. It appears if McGraw can't go, Leggett will provide a depth role behind Morgan. Leggett has some experience as a free safety in college, but none in the NFL. He's been the nickelback this season. New Chief Travis Daniels...

Free safety Jarrad Page was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, and he’ll miss the rest of the season because of the severely pulled calf he suffered during last Thursday’s practice. The Chiefs signed cornerback Travis Daniels, who spent training camp with Kansas City, and began a shift of their defensive backfield that could, in a pinch, involve nickel back Maurice Leggett...

But here is where it gets cloudy. What if both McGraw and Page are unable to play on Sunday? Who plays free safety? There is Ricky Price from the practice squad and that’s about it, unless either Mike Brown or Dajuan Morgan can move over from their strong safety post. If McGraw can play, expect the Chiefs to save a roster spot and use CB Maurice Leggett to fill in as the back-up/emergency...

... 93 tackles and 20 passes defensed. Yesterday, Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com reported that Maurice Leggett was getting some time at free safety in practice possibly setting him up to be the emergency in the instance McGraw doesn't fully recover from his strained leg. With Chris Chambers, that makes two new Chiefs at practice today.

... now, it looks like Morgan will be getting a lot of playing time. The second move was shifting CB Maurice Leggett over to free safety for the week to serve as an emergency backup. Finally, the third move was the acquisition of CB Travis Daniels on Tuesday morning. Both Leggett and Daniels are true cornerbacks, but have also seen playing time sparingly at free safety. Daniels...

... part of the final cuts. With Jon McGraw also nursing an injury, the Chiefs have been working CB Maurice Leggett some this week at FS. Daniels also could provide some help, as he started a game at safety for the Dolphins in 2007. I have no idea what the Chiefs will do at FS if McGraw is unable to play against the Jaguars Sunday. You would think they brought Daniels in to play, so he...

... ( Update 4:15 PM : Haley says it's an injury, updates coming). With the safeties out, nickelback Maurice Leggett and Ricky Price filled in. Price was signed to the practice squad last week. Branden Albert was back on the field, as well, and appears ready to finally play this Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. As Looney points out, today is sort of a bonus day. Usually the Chiefs...

... over a week with a leg injury, the Chiefs practiced with no active free safeties on Monday. CB Maurice Leggett took reps as he likely prepared for an emergency role, while the other member of the Chiefs to get snaps was practice squad S Ricky Price. Price was with the team in training camp and signed with the Chiefs practice squad late last week. The situation the Chiefs face at safety...
