Filed under: Hardware , Retail , Rumors , iPod touch Now this is how we like our rumors: Cheap, fast and totally unsubstantiated. Phil Schiller told Gizmodo that Apple's holiday lineup is in place, but the rumor mongers seem not to care. Last week we heard that AT&T was considering an 8GB iPhone 3GS. The latest speculation to hit is that a new iPod touch will be released before December,...

The Wall Street Journal reports that Satoru Iwata, the president of Nintendo Co., doesn't see Apple as a competitor for control of the handheld market, but Apple sure does. According to Apple's head of marketing, Phil Schiller, the Nintendo DS and the Sony PSP were "so cool at first" but "don't stack up" to the iPhone and iTouch's vast variety of different games....

Right now, AT&T offers the iPhone 3G 8GB for $99, and the iPhone 3GS 16GB and 32GB for $199 and $299, respectively. Despite word from Apple’s own Phil Schiller that the company’s lineup is set for holiday sales, reports of a $99 iPhone 3GS 8GB model have hit the ‘net. In case anyone forgot, last week was sort of important for Verizon Wireless. It introduced not one,...

We've heard from a reliable source that Apple plans to introduce "a new iPod touch" this December. Our source couldn't go into details, but this may end up being the iPod touch with a camera that we'd expected back in September . Some may remember that Phil Schiller, Apple's Sr VP of Product Marketing, told Gizmodo a couple weeks back that "the holiday lineup is set,"...

Apple’s own Phil Schiller said that the company’s holiday product lineup is set for this year, but that’s not stopping the rumor mill from claiming that an 8GB version of the iPhone 3GS is still on the way. No less that two unnamed sources are saying that AT&T will begin selling an 8GB iPhone 3GS [...]

... time, effort, and money. It’s frustrating for them and embarrassing for Apple. Tim Cook and Phil Schiller claim they’re making improvements, and no doubt they are. From a pure perception point of view, however, this is one issue that needs fixing sooner rather than later. This is a story by the iPhone Blog . This feed is sponsored by The iPhone Blog Store . But here's the brilliant thing about this which people often overlook: The viability of Apple's platform has little to do with its own actions. It's the same phenomenon that made social networking sites like Myspace...

... would definitely take some of the wind out of DROID’s sails. Of course, there is the fact that Phil Schiller said the Apple holiday lineup is set . That should mean no new products, right? Or it could mean that the 8GB 3GS was already on the roster and that it just hasn’t been announced yet. Still, if it is coming in time for Christmas, Apple is already missing out on some prime holiday...

As you might expect, Phil Schiller weighed in on the announcement, calling the App Store “a major differentiator” for iPhone and iPod touch customers, of which there are more than 50 million. (Schiller didn’t comment on rumors that he had also asked his staff to address him as “Major Differentiator.”)
