Steve Spagnuolo inherited one of the most talent-bereft rosters in the NFL and the Rams' 0-3 record bears proof. But he's been consistently positive and hasn't changed course or threatened to, instilling trust with players, many of whom won't be around to see whether he can turn around one of the most inept franchises over the past few years. Steve Wyche puts Spag's rookie season...

The Kansas City Chiefs acquired wide receiver Lance Long off waivers and promptly placed him on the practice squad. Two weeks later and the team is reportedly looking into activating him to the 53 man roster. A credit to Long or a shot at the Chiefs current crop of receivers? We're not quite sure but two receivers, Dwayne Bowe and Quinten Lawrence , were not active last week. NFL.com 's Steve...

... combine in Indianapolis and found out that he was being shopped in a trade; this is when the Steve Wyche article from the Atlanta Journal Constitution -- the one linked to the words "somewhat acrimoniously" above -- was published. Suffice it to say that Hall was not happy. Anyhow, here's how Wyche described Hall being shopped in a trade at the time: The Newark Star-Ledger...

We know that Larry Johnson and his agent, Peter Schaffer, filed an appeal on Friday to the two-week suspension the Kansas City Chiefs levied against him for conduct detrimental to the team. It was assumed, and actually reported by Steve Wyche of NFL.com citing sources, that LJ was very interested in getting all or part of the $630,000 in base salary he was set to miss with the suspension....

... would have been willing to ship him out with the right offer. Apparently that offer didn't come. Steve Wyche of NFL.com also spoke with two GMs on Friday and reports that "there would not be much interest around the league because of his repeated character issues." The only thing less attractive than a soon-to-be 30 year old running back with a historically bad yards per...

Photo courtesy the Kansas City Star Steve Wyche of NFL.com reports that Larry Johnson has indeed filed a non-injury grievance with the Kansas City Chiefs . It had previously been reported that the grievance would be filed sometime today. This may or may not mean anything (How's that for insight'). Here's what I mean: LJ and the Chiefs are currently involved in talks about some sort of...

... position, I think anyone they release has a good shot at clearing waivers. On September 28th, Steve Wyche of NFL.com reported that the Chiefs were thinking about promoting Long. He's a "Haley guy" (whatever that means) so the thinking was that the next available spot on the 53 man roster would be his. Nearly a month later and he's there. Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com isn't...

NFL - Broncos’ Bowlen heaps praise on Marshall, McDaniels - Steve Wyche "Brandon understands that he’s got a year left on his present deal, but if he keeps playing the way he is, he’s going to get a very significant raise — a much better contract," Bowlen said. "That’s the way it goes, and Brandon has accepted that." DPP - Gasp! 5-0 start...

These aren't the Rams or Chiefs or Buccaneers, who knew they were going to struggle because of turnovers and talent issues. These are the Titans, who seemingly have a nice blend of experience and youth, toughness and finesse and trust to be anywhere near the brink of playing a make-or-break game in October. However, that is where they are. Steve Wyche thinks that the Titans may be the...

Sure, there are definite clues. Steve Wyche, a widely respected columnist for NFL.com that has covered professional sports for 20-plus years, reported on Monday that the Chiefs are looking for a way to promote WR Lance Long from the practice squad. Then there are the multiple reports of a player who worked out in Kansas City yesterday – former Green Bay T Mark Tauscher – or players who...
