Santi endures school of hard knocks

Anybody who didn't know who TE Tom Santi was before the Baltimore game, they saw enough to know the guy can make plays. And he's tough. Santi took three extremely nasty shots from Ravens defenders. The one most will remember, from middle linebacker Ray Lewis, caused a lost fumble at the 1-yard line. The Colts were that close to going ahead 21-12 if they score seven there. And while I've...

Santi gets his shot at tight end

BALTIMORE -- Tom Santi's busy Sunday afternoon at M&T Bank Stadium was preceded by a whole lot of waiting. The Indianapolis Colts' second-year tight end had yet to be active in four earlier games and wasn't even on the roster for five others. No playing time, no catches.

Colts beat Ravens 17-15 to go to 10-0

... with one touchdown and two interceptions. The Colts' other turnover was a fumble by tight end Tom Santi at the Baltimore 4. Taking advantage of the Colts' injury-depleted defensive backfield, Flacco went 23 for 35 for 256 yards. But he couldn't get Baltimore into the end zone, and that proved costly when the Ravens had to kick a field goal in the fourth quarter after getting a first down

Pierre Garçon is well on his way

Against the Patriots, it was Garçon's impressive29-yard, over-the-shoulder TD catch in the fourth quarter that started Indy's dramatic comeback. Against the Ravens , Garçon's 66 yard reception set up Indy's TD near the goal line; a mind blowing, one-handed TD grab...

N.F.L. Quick Hits, Week 11: Cowboys Don't Lose

The second-year no-name Colts tight end Tom Santi had six catches Sunday. His 80 yards receiving were a big reason Indy was able to fend off the hard-hitting Ravens. Of course, Santi also learned a lesson from one of those hard hits. He fumbled on the goal line after Ed Reed clipped his feet and Ray Lewis drilled him in the back. After taking physical punishment from the most heralded...
