... owing to the wrong medication. And none of it is funny. It's all pain and no funny. Director Walt Becker, who brought a similar level of blunt artlessness to "Wild Hogs" (also costarring Travolta), shoots the movie for maximum unfocused frenzy. The way the footage has been edited by Tom Lewis and Ryan Folsey, every conversation, every moment is hacked into erratic overemphasis. "Nervous"...

Technically there is only one old dog in "Old Dogs" - a 15-year-old Great Pyrenees-Shepherd mix - but even though director Walt Becker frequently cuts to close-ups of the canine grunting with befuddlement for reaction shots, the movie isn't really about him.

paulscheer : THE BEST OF THE WORST OLD DOGS REVIEWS (These are real quotes from actual reviews) Kids who suffer from progeria may be able to relate to Old Dogs, but it’s hard to imagine anyone else fully appreciating it. Director Walt Becker can’t even pull off hits to the groin (you know they’re coming in a movie like this) with as much panache as an episode of America’s...

... a little ho-hum, although I do like the gorilla bit with Seth Green. Old Dogs is from director Walt Becker who made a hit of Wild Hogs a few years back. That movie turned out to be rather charming, although I do not see the same here. Still, I am sure it will be fun enough for those who go. It will surely be far from the worst film you could see, although we can always continue to...

... for finding the 2007 motorcycle comedy “Wild Hogs” mildly amusing.“Old Dogs” brings back director Walt Becker and co-star Travolta for another round of zany antics, again taking on the neuroses of men in their middle age. Here the comedy is domesticated, offering the plight of two characters buried deep in their profitable work life, forced to make time for two kids that reflect responsibility...

ReviewBy David Germain8:59 p.m. ET Nov. 24, 2009In case anyone in the audience isn't sure when to cackle, coo, snicker or sigh, the makers of "Old Dogs" have provided a handy on-screen prompt. It's an old dog, shown in closeup, reacting with little grunts of canine confusion or curiosity over the antics of Robin Williams and John Travolta in this dead stray of a family comedy.Director Walt Becker...

... comedy, however, scored an abysmal 6% “fresh” rating at Rotten Tomatoes, but what of it? Director Walt Becker’s previous all-star comedy outing, “ Wild Hogs ” — the two films actually rhyme — was roundly reviled by most critics and then grossed over $168.2 million domestically. Still, wouldn’t we all rather to win pretty? Our own David Medsker makes a salient point: …You would think...

Old DogsStarring John Travolta, Robin Williams and Kelly Preston. Directed by Walt Becker. 88 minutes. At major theatres. GOld Dogs is more than just the title of what amounts to a John Travolta family employment opportunity with contributions from a shockingly unfunny Robin Williams. It also serves as a two-word review.Disney has dusted off Old Dogs to send it limping into theatres to...
