A familiar face was missing at yesterday’s hockey practice, and it won’t be coming back. Michigan coach Red Berenson announced yesterday that sophomore forward Robbie Czarnik has quit the team and signed with the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He will make his debut with the Whalers today against the Windsor Spitfires.

As if a 5-7-0 start to the season wasn't bad enough. It was announced today that sophomore forward Robbie Czarnik has left the team to join the Plymouth Whalers of the OHL. Additionally, uber-recruit Jack Campbell was not among the future Wolverines who signed a letter of intent and is likely to join the Windsor Spitfires instead. Reaction? Don't worry. I'm not gonna do what you all think...

After coming to Ann Arbor as one of the Wolverines' most anticipated recruits in a long time, sophomore forward Robbie Czarnik left the Michigan hockey team on Monday. Czarnik, a third-round pick to the L.A. Kings in 2008, recently signed with the Ontario Hockey League's Plymouth Whalers and is expected to debut on Wednesday against the Windsor Spitfires.
