Voice Of Justice Be Careful What You Ask For As any reader of this blog should already know, I am continuing to follow the Angela Garbarino case as closely as possible, and I will support Angie in any way possible. Yesterday, Katie brought to my attention an online petition demanding the prosecution of Officer Willis for crimes committed [...]

(This story via Hear Me Roar 2008-02-20 and a private correspondent.) Here is something that I wrote a couple years ago about the State and its efforts to protect the hell out of us all whether we want it to or not: The State is, as Catharine MacKinnon says, male in the political sense. But [...]

Former Shreveport police officer Wiley Willis had received at least two other excessive force complaints prior to allegations that he beat Angela Garbarino to a bloody, unrecognizable mess during a DUI arrest. An unrelated lawsuit, filed in Caddo District Court in 2006 by Shreveport resident Darlene Atkins, alleges Willis put his service weapon to the head of her son, Dillon Freeman in 2005. Atkins...

I'm really beginning to think that there is a media conspiracy. While Anderson Cooper on CNN said that "Hillary Clinton did indeed call Barack Obama to congratulate him on winning," the closed caption read, "been told that al qaeda did indeed call Barack to congratulate him on winning." And that was no obama/osama faux pas like this. And they haven't even really begun the Barack Hussein

This is tough to watch. Shreveport Louisiana. An upset Angela Garbarino repeatedly asks Officer Wiley Willis to use the telephone. She states she is glad her booking for DWI is being videotaped. He turns the camera off. When it is turned back on, Garbarino is seen lying in a pool of blood, being assessed by another officer, and being taken away on a stretcher. Willis has been fired. His lawyer, Eron...

I grew up believing 'police officers' were sworn to 'protect and serve'. Since the GOP believes it has installed a dictator, the US has become 'Thug Nation', defending and practicing torture abroad while, at home, cops run wild and out of control. They apparently believe that martial law is a 'done deal' though Bush's prediction --a terrorist attack that will make 911 'pale by comparison' --hasn't...
