AP Photo/Talbot County Sheriff Office Given the crime he stands accused of, this doesn't come as a big surprise: the AP is reporting that accused U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum shooter James von Brunn has been ordered held without bail today in federal court. This is the first time von Brunn has been able to appear in court in person, as he was still recovering from the gunshot wounds he received...

Richard Cohen: James von Brunn, who is alleged to have opened fire and killed a guard at the Holocaust Memorial Museum, is apparently a consummate bigot. His former wife said that his hatred of blacks and Jews "ate him alive like a cancer," so it might seem appropriate that in addition to having been indicted last week for murder and gun-law violations, he was also charged with hate crimes....

"No Thin Line Between Murder and Hate by Debra J. Saunders "When the Senate passed a federal hate-crimes measure by a 63-28 earlier this month, Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., proclaimed, 'This legislation will help to address the serious and growing problem of hate crimes.' "I'm baffled. Washington passed the first federal hate-crimes bill in 1968 and 45 states have enacted hate-crime laws....

If you were wondering about Obama/Biden's timidity towards Iran, the story from NewsMax in 2008 shows Biden getting monies for his campaign by the pro-Mullah gang Obama wants to 'talk' to; allow to get nukes; while bashing Israel. Weak as mush, Obama's timidity is equally appalling towards N. Korea and in both cases our enemies are taking advantage. Our rally at the White House on July 5th, starts...

Even though there’s been a bit more encouraging news about the state of the economy, the media (mainstream and otherwise) still inundates us with story after story of global, national, local, professional and personal crises in the face of the financial undertow. Even my 8-year-old - who’s mood largely rises and falls with the performance of his beloved New York Mets - told me the other...

By Selwyn Duke Is the right responsible for inspiring murder, such as that of late-term abortionist George Tiller by Kansas native Scott Roeder? Some certainly seem to think so. For instance, the Friday before last Bill O’Reilly had as a guest on his show Joan Walsh, the editor of leftist news site Salon.com. She appeared because she had criticized O’Reilly for engaging in what she called...
