A little over a week ago I covered San Francisco’s Bay to Breakers race. While there were plenty of weird costumes and funny business going on, I really didn’t get a chance to look at the most important element to the race: women dancing on poles and other women. And while most pole dancing in San [...]
May 18, Sunday--5 miles running. Although the race for the Bay to Breakers started at 8am and I did my run at around 3pm, there were still hundreds of "runners" strewn throughout Golden Gate Park in their costumes doing kegstands...
The horrors of the Bay to Breakers crowd in the downtown area are minimal compared to the trashing with human waste and garbage in and near Golden Gate Park, making a mess of people's homes, yards and our public sidewalks and streets. The people doing this are just drunks who do not contribute to any charity. This whole racket must end; the taxpayers are liable for all the damage and we cannot afford...
Photo from Sunday's Bay to Breakers by Steve Rhodes — someone put a banner reading “I ♥ cunnilingus” in the hand of one of the statues on the Music Concourse. Anyone have photos of the people who carried it in the race?
(By Joe Kukura ) Imagine our surprise when we finally stopped partying woke up this morning to find ourselves quoted by the legendary Matier & Ross in The Chronicle! And – surprise! – we were made to sound completely irresponsible. In the finger-pointing aftermath of Sunday's evidently-more-rowdy-than-usual Bay to Breakers , M&R assess the situation and identify the perpetrator: The race's party rep...
So I’m uploading a fair bit to flickr at the moment. I always *have* to look at the bottom of the homepage, the section called Everyone’s Uploads. Earlier today were two images that contrasted hugely; one from a refugee camp in Jordan, the other from San Frans ‘Bay to Breakers‘ (which looks like fuuuuuuuun): It's a [...]
It's often called the world's longest party, but this year's Bay to Breakers race through San Francisco was anything but fun for the residents, cops and public workers who bore the brunt of the drunken young "runners" who staggered around Golden Gate Park and...
By Eyleen Tavy It's not like we're short (ha! You'll see why that's funny in a minute) on Bay to Breakers coverage -- in fact, we've spent most of the last few days hunched over our laptops comparing various runners' physiques to our own. Shut up. it is SO a competition. Anyway, as we were looking over one of our favorite photosets at SF Mike's , it struck us: where are all the uncut guys? Come on,...
Here they are: images fro this past weekend's Bay To Breakers--the race the SFPD doesn't want you to know about ! Also, there are a few NSFW images in here, so... you've been warned. There is an image gallery to this entry which you can view at SFist
SFist intercepted this email sent out today by SFPD Park Station Captain Teri Barrett. Teri, it seems, has an estranged relationship with the merriment for which San Francisco is/used to be famous. Leisure World we are not. Check it: Teresa Barrett/SFPD/SFGO To: Park Station SFPD/SFPD/SFGOV@SFGOV [Date:] 05/20/08 [Time:] 11:21 Subject: Bay to Breakers 2008 I am trying to document how out of control...
(By Joe Kukura ) Tom Brady goes out in a Giants cap. Little else positive to report about this team. [ Yahoo! Sports ] The Warriors have a 0.5 % chance at the top pick in today's NBA Draft Lottery. Believe! [ Warriors.com ] A sensational Bay to Breakers video highlight reel set to The Cure, if you're still jonesing for that kind of thing. [ YouTube ] Still mad at Charles Barkley over last year’s derogatory...
Nice to see the tradition of videogame-themed outfits continues at the yearly Bay to Breakers charity run in San Francisco... coupla shots from over at .tiff's photostream: Love the fact that they bothered to sort out Karts instead of just...
Last Sunday, I had the delight of joining ~80,000 revelers for the annual Bay to Breakers in San Francisco, CA. This 7.46-mile raging party through the streets of San Francisco bears it all (literally in some cases), making good on the race slogan “show me yours”. It did not disappoint! I had a special running partner this year – my 21-month old daughter, Sophie . Her vocabulary is quite broad these...
