Governor Rod Blagojevich has appointed Bloomington business owner Bob Dobski to a six-year term on the ISU Board of Trustees. Blagojevich also reappointed Bloomington resident Joanne Maitland to a six-year term. "[Dobski] has an excellent, long-standing relationship with Illinois State," University President Al Bowman, said.

The Nature Conservancy recently transferred over 780 acres of land to the ParkLands Foundation of Bloomington, including 720 acres in southeastern Woodford County and 60 acres in north-central McLean County. According to Fran Harty, director of Lands for The Nature Conservancy of Illinois, the land was transferred to ParkLands because of their stewardship, which can be costly and long term.
