Green Mountain Daily has the scoop. Leahy and Sanders were both on the record for removing him and evidently one provided the headcount: 43 for the Connecticut for Lieberman Party, 12 for the Democratic Party. The newly elected Senators voted; it wasn't clear to me that they would.

Just for the record, Joe Lieberman not only worked for John McCain's election as president, but he also supported Norm Coleman's campaign and endorsed Susan Collins' re-election.
