I've been getting semi-regular notices of a 15$ (5$ initially, late fees added) parking ticket owed since 1994 for a vehicle and plate that never belonged to me. Your local government at work. They even use USPS stamps to send them. I would guess that the time of the employees and postage has cost the taxpayers (me) about 25$. I have no reason to believe it will ever stop but my time is worth more...
