For all the Minnesota fans who wanted Glen Mason gone as coach, their wish was granted before the 2007 season. Mason had led the Golden Gophers to seven bowl appearances in eight seasons. His replacement, Tim Brewster, finished 1-11, 0-8 in the Big Ten, in his first year.
