More than three years ago, Republicans Jon Husted, Bob Taft and Bill Harris stood on the factory floor at Rack Processing Co. in Moraine and signed a 2,000-plus page budget bill that included sweeping tax changes they predicted would help revive Ohio's troubled economy.

First time ever in my life! Two years ago, my leaders in the Federal government were George Voinovich, Mike Dewine, Debbie Pryce, and George Bush. Bob Taft was my Governor, and Ken Blackwell was my Secretary of State. Now, Voinovich is still there, but the rest have been replaced by Sherrod Brown, Mary Jo Kilroy, Barack Obama, Ted Strickland and Jennifer Brunner. And that was in just two years! What...

From the N.Y. Times, here’s the list . Lots of dreck. Jennifer Granholm? Jennifer Granholm ? Jennifer Granholm!!??!!??!!?? She's the ultimate in 40 watt bulbs. Compared to Granholm, Bob Taft was Pericles. Given that she’s been doing her best since 2002 to reduce Michigan’s standard of living to third world status, she’s only useful as an economic advisor to the extent that you do the opposite of whatever...

- - -The Daily Kos has a little something about Republican congressional candidate Kirk Schuring: OH-16: Republican State Sen. Kirk Schuring has been a reliable foot soldier for disgraced former Governor Bob Taft on energy issues. Now, as a candidate for the U.S. House, Schuring has a splendid plan for relieving the pressure of gas prices on middle-class citizens: more handouts to Big Oil. From a press...

It seems all to clear to me now. Their plan is and was ingenious really. Make over-the-top assertions about Tom Noe, Bob Taft, and Bob Ney (all of whom deserve the threatment they got). Win Columbus on empty promises. And then wait it out... And Republicans start dropping like flies. When they aren't tired of the fight and wanting to run home to their mommies, they are hugging the governor. So T-Shirt...

BizzyBlog has a great post up talking about the national unemployment numbers that were just released and I wanted to highlight his bit about Ohio: Ohio has gone from 5.6% to 6.6% in two months. This would not be Bob Taft's or George Bush's fault. Bizzy is correct. That marvelous piece of "work" would be the "result" of T-Shirt Ted turning around Ohio... Obama won't pick T-Shirt Ted...but history...

Here are a few--- "Golf-gate", Coingate, and the millions of dollars that were lost through the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC). Just when the Ohio GOP thought they could have a week in which no one was reminded of these scandals, another news item is reported. Dispatch: Mark D. Lay was sentenced to 12 years...

The Hypocrisy of Republican Party After the culture of corruption created by 16 years of republican rule, the Bob Taft and Tom Noe coingate scandal destroyed the public trust. I believed we started to hold our public officials to a higher standard, no matter what party they belong. But as every headline I read hammers people like Matt Barrett and Marc Dann, who both exercised inappropriate behavior...

This Adlai Stevenson campaign commercial from 1952 was so poorly done that it will make you burst out laughing. Television was still in its infancy so I guess they can be forgiven for this really lousy commercial. This commmercial is supposed to link Dwight D. (Ike) Eisenhower with Senator Bob Taft. The voices really crack me up. And for a special bonus there is also the worst campaign song ever
