Under waves of ever-increasing competition from Mozilla, Safari, and Google, Microsoft has released a series of PSA-style online videos to promote Internet Explorer 8 . Featuring onetime Lois and Clark actor Dean Cain (who has apparently become the poor man's Bruce Campbell ), the ads are uncharacteristically hip and discuss such real-world Internet problems as the fear of missing something (a.k.a....

While the Jerry Seinfeld ads represented the nadir of Microsoft’s attempts to create a popular ad campaign, the software company seemed to hit its stride recently with the general positive notices for its I’m A PC spots. But now the latest in a series of ads promoting Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 8 browser is so bad that it’s making some viewers want to puke—literally. The ad features a typical suburban...

Sure “In private browsing” or as I like to call it “porn mode” is handy but why is this lady snooping through the dudes browsing history to begin with? It’s a simple rule, “Stay out of the browsing history and you won’t accidentally see a site that will make you puke.” It’s funny but not funny [...]

By Sarah Townsend Only furthering the argument that the only thing PCs are good for is looking at porn, Microsoft just released a new commercial for Internet Explorer 8, emphasizing the feature that allows you to hide your browser history. It’s not for the weak-stomached. A little breakfast-time browsing, I see. That’s sick. [...]

Oftentimes, you wish to use your computer privately, including going on sites that you wouldn't want anyone else to see. This is now possible with Internet Explorer 8. The private navigation avoids shocking everyone around you. Microsoft uses humor that will appeal to the taste of some (and not at all to others...). After a few misguided attempts, Crispin and Microsoft try one more time with a viral...

Microsoft decided to pull the OMGIGP (Oh My God I'm Going to Puke) commercial for Internet Explorer 8 because it's too disgusting. This ad tries to convince you to switch to IE8 because it's private browsing mode will prevent relatives from seeing all the nasty sites you've visited. This feature is also available in Firefox and Google Chrome by the way. Fortunately, the clip is still available on YouTube:...
