Obama, below, is tired, nothing more. But if John McCain did this -- if he mistakenly said he'd visited 57 states -- the media would be all up in his grill, accusing him of a senior moment. Just saying....

A few days ago we reported that Barack Obama was ever so proud to have visited all "57 states" on his campaign swing. But, we noticed that he still avoids wearing that U.S. flag lapel pin, just the same. Well, we have finally found out why Barack Obama won't wear that darned ol' U.S. flag pin. Until now he couldn't find one with all "57 States" on it. Well, the folks over at Suitably Flip blog have...

Yesterday Barack Obama said that John McCain was "losing his bearings," a remark that McCain's campaign, perhaps protesting too much, took as a reference to his age. In fact, though, it is Obama, not McCain, who keeps having senior moments. In particular, Obama is weirdly unable to remember how many states there are in the Union. We noted Obama's confusion here : And I've now campaigned in 47 states,...

Shall we engage in some gently mockery? Yes, we shall : And to paraphrase Vader, my high school civics teacher has failed me for the last time. Fifty states? I scoff! We have far more than fifty : Of course, if John McCain said this, we would have heard about how old he is he has "lost his bearings."

Hey, Obama! How many states are there? Well, ummm… we’ve been to 57 with one left to go , then subtract Hawaii and Alaska…ummmm…. Unbelievable! This guy wants to be the President of the U.S. and doesn't know how many states we have! Surely this was from exhaustion. I just called my eight year old son in here and asked him to tell me what this man just said wrong! His reaction was priceless! Suitably...

Whoops! Who's losing it now? I love the way he pauses and really thinks before adding the "-seven." AND: Let's try to make a list of the 9 additional states Obama envisions in our audaciously hopeful collection of states. (I'm saying 9 not 7 because he asserts that he's been to 2 less than the total.)

An amusing gaffe from Barack Obama: “Over the last 15 months, we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I’ve now been in 57 states? I think one left to go. Alaska and Hawaii, I was not allowed to go to even though I really wanted to visit, but my staff would not justify it.” Presumably, he meant to say “47 states.” Whether he was just tired, thinking of something else, or just someone who...

Ambinder assures us that Obama is simply "tired, nothing more." I guess he was also pretty tired last week when he didn't know what month it was, or how many months were left until the election (he thought it...

Well, get used to it. Obama is going to be our President for the next eight to ten years. Whew. That’s a long time to govern 57 states. UPDATE: My mistake. It’s actually 58, if you watch the clip.

If McCain made this mistake you can bet your ass that Obama’s camp would be all over it calling it more evidence of his age: No one believes Obama is that ignorant, so its obviously fatigue. An excuse McCain cannot use I suppose….gotta be old age. Allah : Verdict: Dude’s lost his bearings. Heh…

If Dan Quayle were dead he'd be rolling in his grave. The left made a laughingstock out of him for misspelling 'potato' with an 'e' (once an acceptable spelling of that word) and implied that Quayle was a moron, a dummy, and unfit for office. Well what does that make Barack Obama then? Here is a guy who thinks there are 58 states in the union. He thinks Arkansas is closer to Illinois than Kentucky....
