VoteVets has a new ad featuring Brandon Woods, an Iraq War veteran from New York. In the ad, Brandon says, "What did we fight for in Iraq? I have some idea. I fought in Operation Iraqi Freedom. And "freedom" means when the Iraqi people and their Prime Minister ask us to make a plan to leave, we do. But, Senator McCain would occupy Iraq indefinitely, against their wishes. That's not what freedom means....

John McCain sure is a maverick, I'll give him that. In just a week, he's managed to alienate the Iraqi Prime Minister, the Iraqi people, the American people, and the veterans community.

In the new Vote Vets spot running nationally, Brandon Woods , an Iraq War veteran, says: "Sen. McCain would occupy Iraq indefinitely, against their wishes. That's not what freedom means. That's not what we fought for." And the RNC's react, per spokesman Alex Conant : “Barack Obama voted against funding for the very troops this ad claims to represent. On the question of Iraq, John McCain is now a ridiculous figure, as this CNN interview paraphrased by Josh Marshall makes clear. First, apparently Maliki didn't really mean what he said. Second, Wolf Blitzer read back to McCain his repeated claim that Obama would rather lose a war if it helped him win a political campaign. This is close to an accusation of treason. So Blitzer asked him whether this...

I came in off the road long enough today to find this on the web. Its from votevets.org They introduced the video with this copy: Senator McCain once said that if the Iraqis asked us to leave, we would have to leave. Those of us who served agree with that. Senator McCain now either has to back off his refusal to set a plan to leave Iraq, as Prime Minister Maliki requested a number of times in the past...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-HfSY6LEqY VoteVets is perhaps the most effective organization that speaks directly for the Veteran of Iraq/Afghanistan. It was Vote Vet that made the definitve commercial about the 2nd rate body armor our troops were wearing even last year in Iraq. The US Army still refuses to use the more effective supplier. Today VoteVets has a new commercial [...]
