Google's environmentally focused non-profit has produced an excellent Google Earth visualization which shows information on geothermal energy available in the US. It's part of a web site Google has produced on Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) which is being touted as a possible answer to long-term electrical energy needs on a vast scale - a Googol even.
