Sekai Camera (World Camera in Japanese) is an iPhone-exclusive social tagging service, developed by Tokyo-based mobile application provider Tonchidot. The presentation (and following Q&A) was pretty hard to understand because of the language barrier but Sekai Camera turned out to be a crowd-pleaser nonetheless.

Augmented Reality (AR) is the phrase being used and this practice of making layers of...

Tonchidot, a Tokyo-based start-up, was the second Japanese party presenting at this year’s TechCrunch50 conference that currently takes place in San Francisco. Their presentation today was probably the most talked about of day 2 (tomorrow is the last day of the conference) but in my view, this is because of the wrong reasons. As stated in [...]

TonchiDot Sekai Camera was without a doubt the most amazing & hysterical presentation at TechCrunch50 this year... never seen anything like that demo, or the Q&A that came after. The entire room was spellbound, then laughing uncontrollably at the Q&A responses ("Look Up, Not Down! We Have Patent! Imagine! Join Us!"). Almost never see Jason Calacanis & Michael Arrington speechless, but it happened....

This year I attended the Online News Association conference for the first time; I was part of a big group of first-timers at the event. While other conferences saw fewer attendees this year, ONA said it sold out, with more than 800 taking part in the D.C. event. I knew this would be a great opportunity to scope out the current state of the online journalism industry, and hopefully see what to expect...

Richard Gatarski wrote on his blog earlier today about a new iPhone app called Sekai Camera. It’s so cool so I just had to spread the news. The Sekai Camera was presented by TonchiDot on TechCrunch50 earlier in september. This new app makes it possible to combine online data with offline positions. Basically, if you turn [...]
