I love, LOVE Aaron Copland's music. To me, he remains the quintessential American composer, who made something out of the populist style that was so popular in the beginning of the 20th century. I think A Lincoln Portrait is a very underrated piece, perhaps seen by some as a gimmick because of the use of spoken word, but presented in the right context, it can be incredibly moving.
