Togo got its ticket for the Africa Cup of Nations Angola 2010 Saturday in Lome after beating Gabon 1-0. Floyd Ayite scored the only goal at the 72nd minute. Togo will play the CAN for the 7th time since 1972.

Secretary General of the International Organisation of the Francophony (OIF) Abdou Diouf is expected in Lome next Saturday on a three-day visit to Togo, official sources said. Mr. Diouf will hold talks with the local authorities on the cooperation between Togo and the OIF in the areas of cultural and linguistic diversity, peace, democ r acy, human rights and education.

Togo has designated a Nigerian airline, Medview Airlines , to airlift its Muslim pilgrims to Saudi Arabia henceforth. The airline has subsequently opened an office in Lome, the capital of Togo. Togolese authorities said the move was aimed at ending the sufferings of the cou ntry's pilgrims, who usually travel by road to Ghana to take flights to the HolyLand.
