Last weekend, I had a great time at a barbecue in support of Peter Kent's run in Thornhill. I saw a lot of old friends and met several new ones. It was nice to chat with HM Minister of the Environment John Baird, as well as MPP Peter Shurman and of course soon to be MP Peter Kent. A great afternoon and the rain held off until the barbecue ended. Thanks to Peter and his lovely wife Cilla for welcoming...

Recently a lot of people have been asking me if I’m going to apologize. Some big influential columnist guy did it in Monday’s National Post. Stephane Dion did it. Radio pohbah Charles Adler did it. John Baird did it. Quebec leader Mario Dumont and NDP leader Jack Layton did it. Endless blogging Tories demanded it. [...]

Blowhard EnviroMin John Baird warns not to expect any climate change deal coming out of the G8 summit.Bush and his Yo 'Ho Clone of the North say no deal unless India and China sign on for equal cuts. I've already addressed their highly selective idea of what "equal" means but it ought to be more than enough to ensure that Big Oil isn't given an enviro-wedgie anytime soon.Leave Bush out of this. He's...

The Globe and Mail reports, The G8 won’t set fixed mid-term targets for reducing greenhouse-gas emissions by 2020 when it meets in Japan next week, Environment Minister John Baird says.
