I just finished an essay critical of President Obama's response to the Fort Hood attacks, " Obama Dishonors Commander-in-Chief Role ." I feel even more strongly about this after clicking on the London's Telegraph , " Fort Hood Shooting: Texas Army Killer Linked to September 11 Terrorists " (via Memeorandum ): Major Nidal Malik Hasan worshipped at a mosque led by a radical imam said...

A tenuous link, to be sure, but certainly a troubling one . Hasan, the sole suspect in the massacre of 13 fellow US soldiers in Texas, attended the controversial Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Great Falls, Virginia, in 2001 at the same time as two of the September 11 terrorists, The Sunday Telegraph has learnt. His mother’s funeral was held there in May that year. The preacher at the time was Anwar...

EU Referendum (Free subscription) | yesterday
This is the the Daily Mail's "take" on the continuing fall-out from the Tory non-policy on "Europe". It has a lot of the faithful "spitting blood" at Cameron's refusal to offer a referendum, threatening to vote UKIP. I'll do a proper review of this and other coverage later today. Yesterday, apart from a very successful defence debate in Jersey, I spent some time sitting...

The U.S. Army recently sent a Muslim (not a convert as earlier reported) from Walter Reed Hospital in D.C. by the name Malik Nadal Hasan to perform work as a psychiatrist at Texas' Fort Hood. Today, Major Hasan shot and killed 12 soldiers preparing to ship off to Iraq and wounded another 30 supposedly because he got a bad evaluation and didn't want to fight in Iraq, or so says his cousin, Nadir Hassan,...

As the Pueblo Chieftain reports: Senate candidate Jane Norton said Wednesday that she doesn't want the federal government to condemn land to expand the Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site... Norton said she would allow ranchers who want to sell their land to the U.S. Army to do so. But, "I wouldn't support condemnation," she said. "I don't think that's the right way to go." Ranchers near...

Most Catholics had no idea, and would have disapproved in the strongest possible terms. They, of course, paid the price. Today of all days, let us consider that eighty per cent of the laws to which we are subject are made by a supranational body which meets in secret and publishes no Official Report. A foreign power maintains a huge military presence here, accountable to nobody. We have no intelligence...

Shopping malls in the country are a favourite target for terrorist organisations. How often have you seen a security guard place a mirror under your car and then letting you go inside the mall's premises? If you call this a thorough security check, then forget it, because it is a wasteful exercise.

By J. Thomas Duffy We got hip, recently, to the site 'Cap News' , which bills itself as "News satire and parody, covering comedy and humor from politics to sports and health to technology." For our money, it is sharper, and more sophisticated than 'The Onion', targeting current events daily, versus the latters "Average Man Shocked To Discover He Has Above-Average Problems"-type...

The American Jewish Committee has claimed that the seizure by the Israeli Navy of a ship ferrying 500 tons of weapons from Iran to Hezbollah, the Lebanese terrorist organization, is an unmistakable sign that the Tehran regime is fanning the flames of war and conflict in the Middle East."We applaud the Israeli Navy for taking this decisive action," said AJC Executive Director David Harris....

So nice to see the Obama administration take an equally tough stance against the Islamic terrorist organizations, Hamas and Fatah - who systematically educate their people to kill Jews and destroy Israel. (Sarcasm, since those issues aren't addressed whatsoever, despite the fact that both the Hamas Charter and Fatah Constitution call for the... (Click the title to read more....)

The African National Congress (ANC) was designated as a terrorist organisation by South Africa's old apartheid regime. Since that time, things changed. Apartheid is not legal anymore, Nelson Mandela was released from prison, and the ANC became the government. But Mandela remains on the US terrorist list.
