The BBC reports: Gordon Brown has told Afghan President Hamid Karzai he will not put UK troops "in harm's way for a government that does not stand up against corruption". That sounds a lot like he's getting ready for his favourite ploy of blaming someone else for a reality he helped create, and is preparing the ground to announce a withdrawal. I just feel very sorry for those who have lost...

So Sarkozy has pulled his support for Tony Blair? So much for that friendship. Well done to Gordon Brown for showing his full support for Tony Bliar - this must have been the nail in the coffin for the greedy bastard. It's a joke that the war mongering criminal and Bush-puppet Bliar is some kind of Middle East peace keeper and that his cunt of a wife is squandering money left, right and centre on properties...

My own opinions on President Blair should be clear enough by now - I don't think the EU needs a President, and if it does, then it certainly should be someone other than that grinning, untrustworthy and utterly compromised cove Tony Blair. And it seems that others are coming round to this point of view . Well, the idea that Tony Blair isn't the best person for the job, anyway. Sadly they see to be...

According to a YouGov poll, only a third of the electorate wan Tony Blair to be the president of the EU. The Daily Telegraph/YouGov poll comes amid signs that the former premier's bid for the new European job is set to end in failure. At an EU summit in Brussels yesterday, Gordon Brown...

There is a famous photograph, taken on 2 May 1997, of Tony Blair surrounded by all but a handful of the 101 women elected as Labour MPs in the previous day's landslide victory. Even at the time it struck me as a little cheesy, but it's one of a series of pictures, including a sleepy Cherie Blair opening the front door in her nightclothes, which sum up the heady atmosphere of Labour's extraordinary...

House of Corrections Brown blocks prisoners' pay rise The Prime Minister intervened to overrule the Prison Service Management Board after learning that it had given the go-ahead to increasing the minimum pay rate for an employed offender from £4 a week to £5.50. Though a tiny sum, it amounts to a 37.5 per cent rise at a time when Mr Brown is demanding restraint across the public sector....

I've been struck by how the political class has become much more complacent in their arrogance. I can only assume that politicians and their coterie have been troughing since forever, but they were more discreet or had sufficient military power to justify egregiousness. We've obviously had our own massive troughing scandal here, we've had Barrenness Scotland and "the laws do not apply to me"....
