Emma Clarke is a nationally recognised voice artist who recently lost her job from London Underground for having a bit of a laugh! She has a blog and really knows her stuff. She was dropped as the “Voice of the Tube” after she made fun of her own announcements on the internet and was said to have criticised London Underground. But Emma Clarke, who can still be heard telling millions of commuters to “mind the gap”, is now the voice of sat-nav.

Emma Clarke used to be the voiceover woman who made those boring announcements telling people to "mind the gap" on the London Underground. Then she made a load of spoof announcements, put them on her website and had her contract terminated. You can listen to them here. I think they're hilarious.

Emma Clarke spent eight years as the ‘Voice of the Tube’ on the London Underground. Transport for London failed to see the funny side of a series of spoof messages posted on her personal Internet blog . She has now become the voice of CoPilot® Live™ satellite navigation. If you have CoPilot you can go to ALK's Website to download the announcements, if you don't use CoPilot you can check...

A friend has been pointing me at all kinds of You Tube content, not least this . I heard it on Radio 1 once, but never saw the video (or indeed heard anything else of it). Oh, and also news about Emma Clarke (the "voice of the tube") from a week ago or so. The fake tube announcements might be related, and the fridge magnet game is sort of fun.

Emma Clarke was the voice of the oddly iconic "Mind the gap" announcements in the Londone Tube. On her blog, she has spoof announcements, some of which are very funny. This may have gotten her fired; the Tube says they fired her because she said using the Tube is "dreadful," ...

Emma Clarke is known to Londoners and visitors to that city as the voice behind the pleasant-yet-ubiquitous "mind the gap" reminders. On her Web site, she has a set of MP3 spoof files , apparently free for the remix-ready. My personal favorite is the Sudoku one...

You may have heard the story this week about how Emma Clarke who does the voice for announcements on the tube has not had her contract renewed. There was speculation that it had to do with her putting up some spoof announcements on her own website. Spoof London Underground Announcements I particular like the very last one, "Here we are again..."

The British woman who makes the announcements on the London Underground has been sacked for mocking the Tube system. Emma Clarke - who warns passengers to "mind the gap" - posted spoof announcements on her own website in which she descried the system as "dreadful" and made fun of American tourists, pervert men, and sweaty commuters. Emma, [...]

In one of the episodes of Mad Men--the AMC summer series about advertising in the 1960's-- the agency learns they have lost the Dr. Scholl's account. As soon as the news settles in, everyone removes their Dr. Scholl's insoles and throws them in the trash. When you are an agency or vendor providing creative services to a business, it is considered good business to use the client's products. Emma...
