South Gloucestershire Council has been told (or dictated to) by central Government that they need to provide more travellers sites. This issue came up at this evenings Parish Council meeting as three of the identified sites are in Pilning. The real revelation though came when we were told that when planning where to locate travellers sites issues such as flood plains and greenbelt development

A cancer patient has received an apology from a hospital for not diagnosing his condition earlier. Father-of-three Jonty Leathwood, 26, was diagnosed with a thrombosis in January 2006 at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital but it was not until six months later cancer was spotted.
